After waiting for a few years, Corrinne May's second album is finally available. So I went to her new website hoping to order a few autographed copies of her second album (I have yet to give Dan and Au their christmas and birthday presents.)Turns out that it's only for U.S. residents. There goes. The local release date is not out yet, although I have read on another person's blog that it's in the first week of May. I'm not sure how accurate the information is.

Dan, hope you haven't got the album yet. Let me know.

It's hard to decide which is my favourite song in the second album. I read an earlier entry (where I went to her performance in 2003) and the song titles I could recall from it were "Everything in its time" and "Happy birthday".

Here are my thoughts on the album:

Little Superhero Girl - Light and fun. She mentioned before that the inspiration came from the powerpuff girls. Can't remember which (was it bubbles?)

All I need is a good disguise where nobody can recognise but I'm feeling so small...

Save me - This song didn't leave a deep impression on me.

Free - Beautiful lyrics from the very first line.

I see the morning glory, it winds upon the tree. It tells the untold story of how things were meant to be......

Everything in its time - She touched me with this song when I first heard it at her performance. I was reminded of this quote on how the answers would come to us when the timing is right.

It often feels like I'm two steps behind. Somebody must have moved that finish line.

Safe in a crazy world - One of my favourites. How often do you feel the same way? We all need something or somebody to keep us sane in this crazy world.

When it's hard to tell what's real, from what the world just wants to preach. You are the voice I seek..

Let it go - I'm not quite sure if I'd heard this in 2003. I remember hearing it on new year's day but still, it didn't leave that much of an impression. Its equivalent is "Walk away" on the first cd.

Angel in Disguise - All the little miracles in our lives that are so ordinary yet extraordinary.

Take a look at the ordinary. Don't need to look for paradise.

If I kissed you - This song didn't leave a deep impression on me.

Happy birthday - Another of my favourites. Optimistic and reflective. Great song to pay tribute to a friend on his/her birthday.

Every beat of my heart - This song makes me feel like it can be a private conversation one can have with oneself. It's a love song about courage, growth and faith.

I wish that time could be replayed, I'd keep you here with me everyday. They say that love is letting go, I hope that you find your way.

Went out with PL today after work. I think the highlight of the day was at Kinokuniya where we were interrupted by a Mr H. A. while looking at a Sylvia Plath's book. He was behind us and loudly proclaimed the book as rubbish. Went on to pick out another book and said that it was a waste of paper (the poems could have fit on a lot less paper). Then he proceeded to say something along the lines of commercialism being evil and then showed us some A4 sized papers which were folded into half, stapled and with haikus printed on them. He then said that that was the real thing.

Yes, he wrote those. Being polite, PL flipped through the booklet and we tried to look interested. Can't remember how we managed to walk away but we were very, very relieved to be able to run away.

PL mentioned that she wanted to find something impressive in the booklet to praise him for but there was nothing she found. I mentioned that he must be bitter that he couldn't find any publisher for his stuff.

I was wrong. Found his name on Amazon. Although a review submitted for one of his books looks rather dubious (I think he submitted it himself), at least he got something published.

Just that I felt it was wrong to be standing in Kino and selling his stuff and making derogatory remarks on other authors. One of these days, he's sure to get chased away if someone gets irritated enough to complain.

Had a good time with PL today. =)

ZzZzZzZzZ

Sis is playing Quando, Quando, Quando over and over again. Going mad.

Tell me Quando, Quando, Quando... tell me quando quando quando...tell me quando, quando, quando.

I hope I have a peaceful Friday. I found out I have to work on Saturday. I don't have to work a full day next Monday. I don't have to work a full day next Friday. I will have a long weekend starting next Friday.

I had ice-cream tonight while walking along Orchard Road. Serenity and I played a trick on KK by sticking a $1.90 price tag on his right shoulder. Hit him hard thrice on the right shoulder. He just looked sian. We walked around with the tag on his shirt for maybe an hour. Serenity took a photo with her handphone and sent an MMS to KK.

Nothing happened after he read the message.

He didn't activate the MMS service. Dang! No fun.

Yes. I know that was very childish of us.

Yawns.

I don't think I want to go to Ubin with the rest to cycle next weekend. The dog incident still comes to mind whenever I think of Ubin.

I don't think I will go to Rawa with PL and everyone else in May. I'd rather spend a quiet weekend with PL somewhere before she goes for her graduation trip. Will see what PL says.

I will go to the hairdresser soon. My head looks like an octopus at the back. Quite scary.

Sound of music.

It didn't feel like a normal working day. Three of us took a train down to Bugis Junction to have tim sum for lunch. Buddy looked happy. Yay. =) Seems that the marital problems are out of the way for the time being.

I watched eye for a guy 2 tonight. I was cringing a few times during the show. If you watched it, tell me what you thought of Mr Earrings (Oh I dislike girls with big earrings...give me a kiss, will ya? *awkward silence, awkward silence......*), Mr Depeche Mode (Uh, you know the song with the girl.. uh.. uh.. *embarrassed look* --actually he isn't that bad, just trying too hard to please) and Mr Cocky. Oh and the whole lot of them wolves (except for one guy?) chose king-sized beds over single beds if they were to win the trip.

As of now, Mr Guitar singing out of tune stands the highest chance of winning the trip with Miss Denise Keller (wowie!).

Advice to some of the contestants: You say it best, when you say nothing at all.

There is a workstation competition where I'm working and almost everyone has done something. Tomorrow is the judging.

I started decorating my workstation at around 6 p.m. today. Had no inspiration, no materials and no energy to do much. Thought of what I have been drawing on MSN v7 so I started drawing a lot of Miffy rabbits *heheh* with my coloured pens on A4 papers. Cut them out and drew flowers on one ear and a carrot on the other. Pinned them on my workstation panels and decided they still looked too plain. Drew some bubbles and wrote words in them. One thing led to another and it became a parody.

"Rabbits occupy very little space on Earth. If the two billion rabbits of the globe were to stand close together, as they might for some public event, they would easily fit into a city block that was twenty miles long and twenty miles wide. You could crowd all humanity onto the smallest Pacific islet.

Grown-ups, of course, won't believe you."

"A rabbit sees clearly only with its heart. Anything essential is invisible to its eyes."

Ended up going home at around 8.30 p.m. because I had so much fun. =)

I wonder what I would feel now if I read the little prince again.

Misunderstood

I think I did a crazy thing and ended up getting misunderstood in the end.

Very misunderstood. I feel quite helpless because I think explaining will make things worse and not explaining anything makes me feel guilty.

Oh well......

My friend just told me he spent only 2K in total for his Europe trip (he said he spent twelve nights there).

I told him I was shocked at the amount. He said he was shocked too.

Things at work are taking a turn for the better. At least the projects are almost done. Hope that the rest of the year will be smoother.

Beyond repair.

Things that shouldn't be said and done. You're hurt. I know I hurt you but can you see that I'm hurt too?

Do you truly love me for who I am? I think you don't.

Where is home? I'm beginning to feel that I'm back to those days of despair.

Home.

Currently listening to: Home ~ Michael Buble

Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm

Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know

And Ive been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
Im fine baby, how are you?
Well I would send them but I know that its just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
Im lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, Ive got to go home

Let me go home
Im just too far from where you are
I wanna come home

And I feel just like Im living someone elses life
Its like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
But this was not your dream
But you always believed in me

Another winter day has come
And gone away
And even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go home

And Im surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you know

Let me go home
Ive had my run
Baby, Im done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will be all right
Ill be home tonight
Im coming back home

I watched "The Wedding Date" the other day. Barely passable movie which was rather entertaining on a boring day. Then this song came on and it sounded really familiar. I realised it was from the CD my sis had been playing so often so when I came home, I copied it.

Let me go hooooommmmeeeeeee. He really sounds very weary but I like!

I think the situation at work is a little better today. I actually finished what I couldn't finish at home last night.

Worrying..well it all amounts to nothing in the end. =))

Ballet under the Stars last Friday was really more of picnic and chat under the stars. A, D and I were on our picnic mat eating chips, pizza, sushi and drinking milk. While eating, A suddenly asked a question: "Do you smell smelly men's socks?" I was wondering how she knew it was men's socks (by that, it seemed to imply that smelly socks must belong to men) and D pointed out that some guys beside us had their shoes taken off. There, the smelly socks while we ate our dinner.

Okay, I didn't really smell anything so I had a happy dinner. Chatting over food and paying a little less attention to the ballet than the past two times I had been there. It was enjoyable.

After the performance, we took the train down to City Hall where we walked through the tunnel towards Esplanade. Took a few silly pictures on the way - A and D pretending to run on this track thingy and I stood next to a doll on the wall. When we were done with the shots, we strolled down to Fullerton where we sat on Cavenagh Bridge. My favourite!

I like sitting on my bridge looking at the glittering water and sleazy-looking boats at night. In the near distance would be Anderson Bridge (if I remember correctly) framed by the night sky and other buildings in the distance. To my right would be Fullerton Hotel with the yellow lights and flags flapping in the wind. Occasionally there would be people on the mezzanine level, perhaps to enjoy the breeze and a similar view of what I had. If I looked a little below eye level, I would see little children playing in the near distance and falling into the water. Nah, you would know what I'm talking about. Hahaha. Behind me would be the banks and Boat Quay. I remember I used to tell a friend or two that the view was interesting. If I stood on the bridge, one view would be colonial-style while the other would be that of skyscrapers and brightly lit shophouses with pubs. Which side do you prefer?

Today was a bad day at work. Hope tomorrow is better. Well, there's another presentation tomorrow. Am supposed to practise a little tonight but feel sian. Anyway, this is not the best place to talk about work and I don't want to talk about work now so I shall write about other things.

Random thought of the day: If I were a judge for a competition among the best(photography/painting), I don't think I'll be able to have the heart to say which is best and which is lousiest. How to rank such things? Like how difficult it is to rank performance at work......

Kuala Lumpur was fun. We ate and shopped the whole time so much so that all I can recall about the trip is food and more food and shopping. I liked the ice-cream, the food we had outside the hotel and outside, the lazing time in the hotel even though the HBO programmes sucked (I will always remember the stupid pistachio person in the stupid movie they showed, by the way, I did check who won that reality show we watched halfway). The company was great too. Got to spend time with CJWD and XL and get to know a new friend, K.

Have to say thanks to CJWD. If not for him, I wouldn't have got myself out of the house for that weekend. I think I would have just stayed home to do work.

Oh, and I moved to another workstation last week. Time to get some plants to grow (the last time I grew cactuses at home they dried up. =( ) I'll try again! Maybe some other plant like those which grow out of cans which I saw at Suntec. So fun!

Air
Your Element is Air: You are an artistic person
with a unique sense of style. Your attitude
changes along with colors, style and outlook on
life. You are intelligent and curious person;
although prone to wander in thought. You are
constantly active, care-free, kind and you most
likely enjoy singing. You are the person in
your group who keeps everyone happy and free
from worry. You have what everyone is searching
for, that proverbial fountain of youth deep
inside. You can come across as childish, but
you're really just having fun. Constantly
moving, the air is a force of nature. One
moment you can be a breeze, the next a tornado
but, you are usually calm, and in desperate
situations, you can be the sanest person there.
