Where have I been? Places.

Currently listening to: Centre of my life-Hillsong Church London

It's been about nine days since I last blogged. The presentation last Tuesday was okay although I was feverish throughout and I felt I was going a little too fast. That night, I met the rest for dinner; Fio, MS, sdh, TG, Rx (can't really remember the initials I used before) at Cafe Cartel. Waited for a long, long time before we got our seats.

It was quite enjoyable as we talked about Rx getting attached and sdh seeing patients at the A & E with coke bottles up the asshole among other funny things I can't really remember now. Except for TG, all the rest are either going to work or are already working. Everyone's getting old.

Wednesday
The next day, I knocked off late and was late in meeting PL. Went to our favourite pigout place-Sakae Sushi- and we did some catching up over dinner. It feels very different yet the same. A little distant yet still close. As we were there picking out the favourite dishes, we were talking about different things happening in our lives. She is now having her exams and thinking about going on to honours year while I'm just living my life day by day. Unlike those days when we were still in school together and going for mentoring sessions together, (always remember fondly those hot and busy Wednesday afternoons when we would gather at the KR interchange to wait for the other mentors and PL would be the earliest to reach), we are now doing different things. I miss those days when we could go out together just by smsing one another in school and then going out to town for a movie and meal. Nowadays it's so hard to fit ourselves into one another's timetable.

Nevermind, I love all of you no matter what.

Friday
We were supposed to go to Wala Wala. As usual, I worked till late and didn't feel up to it. It was around seven plus when I told MS I wasn't going to make it. In the end, they couldn't get seats and went down to Boat Quay. Decided to go down and met MS at Lau Pa Sat where I thought I wanted to have dinner but in the end, I wasn't too sure of what to eat. In the end, after much trouble with finding how to get there and waiting for a lot, we went down to the Macs at Boat Quay and had dinner. It was nice catching up with MS and it was rather relaxing walking down the riverside. After that, we went to join the rest (Fio, Rx, XL, Shir, Mau) at Jazz at South Bridge. The last time I went there was with my cousin. I guess it's more of a place to just sit down and listen to music rather than talk. We left at around 11 plus and I nearly fell on the road while jaywalking. Heels. I want to have a job where I can wear slippers.

Saturday
My nose ran and ran on Saturday. Practically slept for most of the day and it wasn't long before I had to set off for Paragon. Met my colleagues for dim sum dinner. It was fun chatting with the girls. =) I guess, interaction beyond the workplace is very important.

We went to HMV and I got "City of Angels" and "Sliding Doors".

That night, I finished watching "Sliding Doors". I liked it. Asked Ben which ending he thought was the ending and he said it's up to the individual to decide. Being me, I chose the ending where she didn't get past the sliding door. If you had watched it before, what was your interpretation?

Sunday
The next day, I watched "City of Angels". First thing was; I got a little peeved when I found out that dvds are coded according to region. I tried some software WW sent and I hope it works. At least I think it does lah. Yes, back to the movie. Nicholas Cage plays Seth, an angel who has to decide between immortality and his love for Dr. Maggie Rice, a heart surgeon. In the movie, angels gather at sunrise and sunset and they can hear music. However, they can't feel. What good would it be if you couldn't feel the wind on your face? Well, I admit that some parts were downright hilarious. Like the part when Maggie asks him for his surname and he said "plate" because he couldn't think of anything else and conveniently picked out the first thing he saw. Some parts could have been better. The story captured my heart until it went a little crazy when Maggie found out Seth was an angel. It just went downhill from there and picked up a little at the end. I loved the cinematography though. Watched it a second time and felt that I could understand it a little better. It's quite beautiful and there are subtleties planted here and there in the film. Very nice.

Do you believe in angels?

Monday
Went out with Mom to look at the fixtures for the upgrading stuff. It was a rather interesting experience and Mom really made me laugh when she did a silly thing like asking this PRC, "You're a China man right?" and saying "Quite obvious accent". (directly translated from Mandarin). Heh. Well, after that, we had a very full meal at Crystal Jade ( I had my dessert and half of hers. The old girl can't eat. Bleaaaahh.)

Today
Meetings, meetings, meetings. Then got slight gastric pain. Came home early. Going to sleep soon. =)

I've got this small request. Will everyone who's reading this blog leave a note to tell me who you are? Just this once. Thanks. Just want to have a general feel of who are reading this.

Currently listening to: Open Arms-Journey
So it's Easter Sunday.

I have fallen sick, thanks to the exhaustion and the food I have been eating. Hope I recover before Tuesday so that I can project my voice properly for the presentation and I can eat what I want when PL and I go out on Wednesday.

Did you watch the NKF show? I was quite shocked at how far they are going; the darts, the bees and the knives. I didn't watch the bees part though. How was it? Did Jack Neo get stung?

My colleague and her family are in Taiwan now. I wonder how it is over there with all the demonstrations.

Upgrading programme starting soon. Have to take leave to stay home and see that things are okay.

Better go sleep.

Hope the three Japanese hostages in Iraq will be released soon.

Currently listening to: Forever Love-Color Me Badd
Last night, my cousin and I went to New Asia Bar. When we first went into the place, it sort of reminded me of the bar in "Lost in Translation". After walking around for a while, we managed to get seats where we could get a view of the city. It was lovely. Besides that, it was quite interesting looking at the people around us. People gyrating to the music and the scantily-clad dancers on the scaffolding amidst the colourful lighting and dry ice. It was a little surreal, especially after we got out of the place.

I rested well today.

Today, I read this off Ben's blog: (Ben, hope you don't mind me pasting this, I'll take it out if you say so, yep?)

"Life is the process of finding love. Everyone will need to find four people in their lives.

The first person is you.
The second person is the one you love most.
The third person is the one who loves you most.
And the fourth person is the one you spend the rest of your life with.

In life, you will first meet the one you love most & therein learn what love is all about. Because you know how love feels, you can move on to find the person who loves you most. When you've experienced the feeling of loving others & being loved, you'll know what it is that you need most. & you'll then find the person who's most suitable for you, someone you can spend the rest of your life with.

Often times, however, these three people are not the same person...
The one you love most doesn't love you.
The one who loves you most is never the one you love most.
And the one you spend your life with is never the one you love most or the one who loves you most. He/She is just the person who happens to be at the right place at the right time.

So which person are you in other people's lives?
Who have you found?
And who has found you?"

I was very touched by the words. So, have you found yourself? Have you found the person who loves you most and whom you love most? Or even found the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with? Let's not introduce a religious slant to this. Think of these answers as people in real life. If you have found all, you're very blessed indeed. =)

Cut my hand when I was trying to open a bottle of yoghurt after dinner. =P

Well, it was yet another long day at work today. THE presentation is next week so we have got to get everything cleared by the middle of this week. Besides that, there's the appraisal and confirmation meeting with the boss. I wonder what I am going to say during the meeting......

Just got news that I would have to conduct some briefings to the frontline staff. Another nightmare. I mean, public speaking is one thing but answering questions quickly and accurately on the spot is another. A colleague told me to treat the audience as people with watermelons heads (I think that's hilarious but rather impossible). Now, think of speaking watermelons. Hmm..

Hippo-dog is sitting here with me. He says hello!

Was chatting with my colleague in the meeting room this afternoon during lunch. I was looking out at the sky. I guess, even though sometimes some shitty work and people make it all too overwhelming, I can always take a little bit of time to look at the sky and clouds and feel that there is always a brighter side to life.

I remember when I was younger, I used to stand in my nanny's kitchen and look at the sky. Then I always run out of the house with whoever opened the door, be it ah pek who would water the plants or my nanny who would go down to the void deck or market. One day we walked along the void deck and after we got back from somewhere and we saw rainbows. Stood there staring for quite a while before it disappeared.

I can't remember when is the last time I saw a rainbow. Can you?

Are we too old for rainbows?

So I was wrong. John did not get eliminated.

Yesterday I bought two toys. One during lunch time (this very real looking sleeping toy dog) and another cute hippo soft toy after dinner. Right now I'm sitting here with the hippo (actually I don't know what it is but it looks like a hippo). It makes me happy just looking at him. It's got this tuft of hair, big ears, oval eyes which are quite close to each other, two nostrils and a rather wide mouth. Besides, it has got beans in its four feet and a furry tail. Very huggable. I shall call it hippo-dog.

I haven't been feeling very well these days. Work has been consuming me physically and mentally; I got notified yesterday that I had to go back on my off day next week to wrap up some things for a project. I don't mind going back but I'm really quite tired and need a break. Here's hoping that I am able to take leave in late April or early May. This aside, I have actually been taking Yomeishu. My colleague was telling me that I should try since I perpetually look tired the whole time. So I got a bottle. For the time being, it's not bad but my sis keeps saying that I get a rash when I drink it. It's not that bad lah. I mean, I only look red. Nothing too serious.

Am looking forward to the 8th. Have a date with my cousin and I wonder where we are going.

A colleague of mine is getting married. So I have just got invited to my first wedding reception (of my peers). The first Malay wedding in fact. It looks quite fun-- it's a whole day affair! More to come, more to come. Actually I like weddings. Okay, maybe not just weddings. In general, I just like to see very happy people. Joy is contagious.

Funny.

American Idol and April Fool's

Caught the last part of American Idol just now. I think John with the red hair will get eliminated. Think he didn't do too well tonight. Oops.

My guess is that one of the blacks will win. Powerful voices and great stage presence. I like La Toya. Of course, there are the black horses who aren't black. People like John with the funny dances and sweet Jasmine. They are rather popular. There's this girl who sings quite well (I can't really remember her name) but it just doesn't feel very right. Like it's a bit too forced or something.

I liked Christina Christian from American Idol 1. Anyone remembers her?

It's April Fool's day today! Wonder if there will be any jokes played. Woohoo. Pull your ear!
